Tarabraid Horse Rope is a 200m roll of true braided conductive 7mm thick polywire designed for break-feeding and temporary fencing of horses. White for improved visibility with a red tracer for easy identification and 6 stainless steel and 3 tinned copper conductive strands, for just 180 ohms/km. UV stabilised for longevity.

Horses have relatively poor depth perception and may not always recognise thin wires, braids and tapes. The increased visibility of a white 7mm braided rope helps horses perceive the fence more clearly, reducing the likelihood of collisions and injuries. The soft, flexible nature of the rope reduces the likelihood of cuts, abrasions in cases of accidental contact. Horses quickly learn to respect the fenced boundary, reducing the chance of escape or attempts to challenge the fence. These qualities make Horse Rope the ideal choice for ensuring the security and well-being of horses while maintaining effective containment at a more affordable price than traditional Equine fencing such as post and rail.

Mixed Metal Conductors

Combining stainless steel and tinned copper conductor wires in an electric fence can offer a balance of benefits between cost-effectiveness and performance. The inclusion of tinned copper conductor wires enhances the overall conductivity of the fence. Copper is known for its excellent conductivity, ensuring a strong and consistent electric shock along the length of the fence. Copper itself is resistant to corrosion but can react with fertilisers so we recommend removing the fence when applying fertiliser. Stainless steel wires contribute to the fence's durability and strength. Stainless steel is highly resistant to bending, stretching, and corrosion, ensuring the fence maintains its structural integrity over time. This enhances the fence's ability to withstand pressure from animals, wind, and other environmental factors, reducing the likelihood of breakage or damage.

Advantages of Polybraid:

  • Polybraid is generally stronger and more durable than tapes and twisted wires. Its braided construction provides added tensile strength, with greater security and protection for the conductive wire in the braid due to the many more interwoven strands. Thus allowing it to withstand greater tension and pressure from animals, wind, and other environmental factors.
  • Tarabraid has a polyester centre core with an external polyethylene coating for added protection and ease of use. It is important to keep braid clear of dirt and manure to maximise the longevity of the braid.
  • Polybraid is typically more visible due to its thicker braided construction and often comes in bright white with contrasting colour strands. This increased visibility makes it easier for animals to see, reducing the likelihood of accidental contact and improving overall safety.
  • Polybraid is less prone to stretching compared to tapes and twisted wires. Its braided design helps maintain tension along the length of the fence, preventing sagging and ensuring consistent performance over time. This resistance to stretching reduces the need for frequent adjustments and helps keep the fence line secure and effective.
  • Polybraid is versatile and can be used in a variety of fencing applications, and can be easily repaired, and reused, providing flexibility and cost-effectiveness over the long term.
